Finance Council
Parish Finance Councils assist the pastor in the administration of parish temporal matters. An active, well-formed Parish Finance Council is a key element for promoting the financial health of a parish, assuring accountability and assisting the pastor with his temporal responsibilities.
RELATIONSHIP TO PASTORAL COUNCIL
The Parish Finance Council advises on the adequacy of resources to accomplish the mission and specific ministries of the parish. In other words the Pastoral Council discerns the directions, and priorities that will advance the mission and life of the parish. It is the responsibility of the finance council to translate these visions and priorities into a workable budget. When there is a significant change in the financial status of the parish, before taking action, the finance council, working with the pastor/administrator/parish director, should consult with the Pastoral Council.
